GEN VI NATIONAL DEX: 719 / 721 (missing 2 Mythicals)

Generation VI games were the last games to support what I call a 'True National Dex' - a Dex that lists every single known Pokemon up until the last one introduced in that Gen. In Pokemon XY, this is a total of 721 Pokemon. Future Pokemon games are not capable of this, and have been supporting around 400 Pokemon instead. A True National Dex can be stored in Pokemon Bank or HOME, where each Pokemon has their True National Dex number, but not in main-line game.

Stored together with my Gen VI National Dex in Pokemon Bank are the Aloan Pokemon introduced in Sun/Moon (722 - 801), however I do not have the further Pokemon introduced in UltraSun/UltraMoon (802 - 809), so therefore I end my National Dex at 719 as I am missing two Mythicals, which are not required to complete the National Dex in XY.

    Seek out all Pokemon...

    The Living Dex is a fan-term used to describe a complete collection of every single Pokemon avaliable in a chosen Dex in PC Boxes, in Dex order. It takes 'Gotta Catch 'em All!' quite literally!

    This page documents my Living Dexes. Living dex progress is recorded in the relevant journals. The first one I completed was in 2014 in Pokemon Y - I have since been adding to it with the release of new Pokemon, but where my interest has waned in these new games, I don't intend to carry it on. I am instead hoping to finish a Living Dex in White 2, as well as in Pokemon Platinum.

    I find making Living Dexes very enjoyable as it gives you an opportunity to learn about every single Pokemon and go out of your comfort zone!
